Professional Profile Lee Kaufman, founder of MAX-Ability, received an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1976 and has work experience as a Registered Nurse (currently inactive) for five years in the acute care setting. Subsequent professional experience (1981-1995) involved medical equipment distribution and service to rehabilitation, long term care and other medical facilities. Lee has been President of MAX-Ability from 1993-present. License/Certification • California Contractor License 752625 (Specialty C61/D34/D21) since 1998 • Certified Environmental Access Consultant (USA) since 2003 Summary of Experience I have conducted numerous on-site professional evaluations and submitted written recommendations for projects concerning environmental accessibility technology, home health care access modifications, healthcare employee injury prevention and life care planning. Other professional responsibilities have included leading home access technology seminars for builders and home health care professionals. Technology trade meetings are attended in the US and Europe in order to be current on product technology. I have attended numerous seminars and professional development meetings. Real-world professional knowledge includes that related to caregiver safety, healthcare ergonomics, rehab assistive technology, ADA code, universal design, concepts for barrier-free living and accessibility construction. As owner of MAX-Ability I have performed and supervised product applications, evaluations, installations, training and service. Client Base I have regular business client interaction with consumers, social workers, nurse case managers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, architects, builders, life care planners, home health care agencies, supported living agencies, interior designers and facility planners. Product Resources Accessibility technology may be integrated into new or remodel construction projects or an existing environment. Typical site locations include the bathroom, stairway, kitchen, school, commercial building or an employee workplace. Accessibility product technologies help minimize invasive construction while maximizing long term solutions. MAX-Ability provides resources for installation and technical support for most products.
