Working with Wavemaker is an enjoyable experience!
Whether we're producing one design for you or a package, we're easy to work with, friendly and goal oriented. We keep our clients closely involved with the creative process by providing frequent opportunities for reviews and input. For most projects, a private, on-line web site is available for client reviews, notes, production schedule, and to communicate with the Wavemaker team.
Each project has it's own unique requirements, but the steps taken to reach the objective follows a pattern that has proven to work well with the majority of pieces:
Identify:
The one to start the whole process is the client. Our job is to listen carefully, take notes, generate questions, and learn about your objectives as well as how you want your company to be perceived. We want to know all there is about your marketplace and your position in it. By understanding the buying psychology of your clientele, we can determine the most effective vehicle to connect with them, and above all, we want to discover in what way you want to take advantage of that connection. We also want to know about you and the people involved in your company, as the design will reflect your personality and values.
Investigate:
It's not as intimidating as it sounds, but we do go about our research like detectives. We begin by collecting samples of your company's existing collateral, photos, drawings, etc., anything that may provide insight to your business and your vision. We hunt down information on your competition by reviewing web sites and marketing material. We learn the buzz on your industry and collect feedback from your customers.
Planning:
From the information that we have gathered, we develop a list of specifications that the finished product must meet to effectively achieve it's purpose. If a faceted marketing strategy is being implemented, then a decision is made at this time as to the priority that pieces are to be developed. Budgets and a time line are defined and a schedule is created for the immediate project as well as expected dates for any other media releases.
Brainstorm:
Within the guidelines of the functional requirements, we let the ideas fly, putting everything on the board to consider. We aim to provide a range of avenues for our client to consider. Our experimentation produces a number of rough sketches, which are then reviewed and critiqued by our client, clients colleagues and Wavemaker designers. The most appropriate direction for the design concept is decided on.
Production Phase 1- Design Construction
The concept is developed to a first stage where it is reviewed, while checking that the design still satisfies the functional requirements. We also make sure everyone feels good about the potential look of the piece and are excited to see it developed.
Production Phase 2- Revisions
Incorporating changes or additions, the design is developed more and may then have more revisions until the client is satisfied with a final version.
Production Phase 3- Refinement
It's time to polish the piece as we build the final files, tediously check every detail, and for new media, we test and troubleshoot for computer compatibility. For printed pieces, a Wavemaker designer is present at press check. When the final product is ready to launch, we make sure that it will appear and/or function as intended.
Completion and Follow Up
We want to make sure every Wavemaker design is effective and whose appearance reflects the dedication to quality and creativity that we are proud of. The satisfaction of our clients and continued relationships is our ultimate pursuit,
and it makes us smile while we work.
