Installation

Tools

To mix and apply Tobias Stucco® you will need the following tools:

  • Metal Trowel
  • Pan or Hawk
  • Blue Masking Tape
  • Drop Cloth
  • Drill and Paddle
  • Hopper Gun
  • Spray Rig

Coverage

  • 5 gallon bucket covers 350 s/f with 1 coat or 175 s/f with 2 coats
  • 1 gallon bucket covers 70 s/f with 1 coat or 35 s/f with 2 coats
  • Tobias Stucco® Interior Wall Finish requires 2 coats.

Preparation For Use

Tobias Stucco® is ready to apply straight from the bucket. Material will come tight in the pail. Loosen product in bucket if needed with paddle.

  • DO NOT add water or any other liquids or substances to the mixture.
  • DO NOT add color to the mixture.
  • ONLY USE the tools suggested in the “tools” section.
  • Mix with electric paddle 3 weeks from date on bucket.
  • Mix with electric paddle if you see separation in the mixture, which could occur during shipping.
  • DO NOT scoop stucco out of the bucket with a sharp metal tool. This will scratch the bucket and cause bits of plastic to fall into the mix. Bits of plastic in the mix will cause streaking on the surfaces.
  • When using an electric paddle be sure that the edges of the paddle are smooth so as not to scratch off any small bits of plastic from the bucket into the mix.
  • Be certain that the surface you are covering is free of grease, glue and dust.

Accidental Drips or Spills

Application Guide

Tobias Stucco® Interior Wall Finish can be used over most common building substrates, this guide will provide basic information for installation and application.

  1. Tape around windows, doors, moldings, baseboards etc.
  2. Remove tape between coats when Tobias Stucco® is damp and re-tape when the first coat is dry.
  3. For new construction apply flat white primer to  level 3 gypsum board, diamond board, particle board, cement board, concrete or cinder block. White primer will suffice;
  4. Allow the primer to dry thoroughly before applying the first coat of Tobias Stucco®.

  6. Allow each coat to dry thoroughly. Always use the recommended number of coats for each texture. Tobias Stucco® requires a minimum of two coats to achieve the optimum look and durability.
  7. Begin application at the corner of the wall and proceed. Complete one wall or plane at a time. Never stop in the middle of the wall or plane to avoid cold lines.

Walls with Existing Texture
